John Carpenter’s Short ‘Christine’ Remake Gives Us Chills
Horror fans across the country are going crazy over the It remake this week. But John Carpenter has just given us another remake of a Stephen King classic, and we’re on the edge of our seats for more.
The iconic director is releasing a compilation album of some of his most iconic movie themes. Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 includes scores from 13 of some of our favorite Carpenter flicks. From Halloween to They Live to The Thing, it’s the ultimate Halloween treat for the cinephile
In preparation for the album’s October debut, Carpenter has released a music video for the score from Christine. The four-minute video is basically a short remake of the 1983 Stephen King classic. It stars Rita Volk as a young stranded damsel who’s hunted down by the vintage Plymouth Fury.
This iconic throwback has us on the edge of our seats, hoping there will be more videos to come from the album.

John Carpenter returns to filmmaking after a seven-year absence with his new music video for "Christine," an instrumental off
A reimagining Carpenter's 1983 horror film
When a young woman with car trouble flags down "Christine" for help, the Plymouth Fury chases her down and eventually corners her, where the vehicle reveals that it's not murderously sentient but instead being driven by Carpenter himself.
The young woman hops into "Christine" with Carpenter and the two drive off into the night. The music video marks Carpenter's first visual work since his 2010 horror flick The Ward.
In a statement, Carpenter said of "Christine" the song, "Electronica for a killer car. Most of the soundtrack for Christine was 1950’s rock ’n roll (with a main title appearance of George Thorogood and the Destroyers' 'Bad to the Bone'). I filled in where necessary."

In October, Carpenter will set off on a North American tour where he'll perform his movie themes for a live audience.
